About Dollars & Deductions
Small-business tax advice has a trust problem. Most of it is either written by firms selling you their services, or so dense with jargon it might as well be a different language.
We write the guides we wish existed: plain-English explanations of how small-business taxes, entity structure, deductions, bookkeeping, and payroll actually work — built for owners, not accountants.
What this site is
- Educational. We explain concepts, compare options, and lay out the factors owners weigh. Every page carries the same line: educational purposes only — not tax, legal, or financial advice.
- Independent. Partner referral fees never change what we write. Our revenue model is disclosed on every monetized page.
- Maintained. Tax law changes, so guides are reviewed against current IRS guidance — each page shows its review date.
What this site isn't
- We are not CPAs, tax advisors, or attorneys, and we never claim to be. Nothing here is personalized advice.
- We don't sell tax preparation or planning services. When a topic needs a professional, we say so — and our partner links connect you with licensed firms.
